Baseball Great Thanks Tommy John Surgery, Decries Its Frequency
In his induction speech at the Baseball Hall of Fame yesterday, pitcher John Smoltz credited Tommy John surgery with resurrecting his career, but hoped that the number of such procedures could be lessened in the future.

The great Braves pitcher John Smoltz at his induction ceremony in Cooperstown, NY, yesterday, July 26th. He was 34 when he had the procedure in which a in the arm is replaced by a tendon from another part of the body.
