SEATTLE, May 15 (Reuters) - Washington state Governor Jay Inslee declared a statewide drought emergency on Friday, saying drought conditions caused by a lack of snowpack are the most serious in over a decade.
In a announcement in the capital, Olympia, Inslee said the drought had "deepened dramatically in the last few weeks," with conditions expected to worsen as the hot summer months approach.
